my small and boxed-in freedom
"my small and boxed-in freedom joins me to the freedom of the world..." Clarice Lispecter, Agua Viva. This outdoor installation was included in the White Rock Center for Sculptural Art's Summer Invitational III, 2021 as part of New York Textile Month. The central square woven panel spells out "freedom" in morse code. The piece is meant to conform to the topography of the land and reflect the sky or conjure water reflecting the sky. Materials include cast fiber-glass reinforced gypsum, woven cotton, acrylic ink and paint, and mdf.
